Entertainment at weddings?
There are lots of ways to make your wedding day exciting, interactive, and memorable for your guests. Ideas for entertainment at weddings is countless. Here are a few fun ideas for wedding entertainers.
First…the traditional photo booths have had a makeover. Try a 360 booth, or a theme booth like a ski lift or a snow globe video bounce house. The days of a camera in front of a draped backdrop and some hats. Fun entertainment companies like MiHi Entertainment and Fun Productions have the most modern equipment in this arena, and lots of theme ideas. I’ve seen 1920s movie camera photo booths, ski lifts, and AI booths where they can take your face and make you into a sexy stewardess godess. Get creative for your guests and level up.
Second…live animals serving beer are popular at our outdoor Colorado mountain weddings. We have burros, highland cows, llamas….all wearing baskets and serving libations. Sometimes we’ll also put snacks in those baskets such as popcorn or churros. Don’t worry folks, these wedding performers wedding magician come wearing “poop bags”, and are all clean and fluffy. They love having their photo taken, and will agree to wear a flower crown if you ask nicely. Check out Rocky Mountain Beverage Burros and Sparrow Hill Beverage Burros for the fun here.
Third…entertainers in person such as caricature artists, balloon artists and live painters. These talented artists come to your event and offer something custom for your guests. I tell my clients, this is their “thank you” gift for their lifelong support and coming to celebrate with you. Live painters can either paint a canvas for your wall, or they can paint little 4×6 postcards of your guests as a take-home. It’s entertaining to watch them work and most guests are really thrilled with the gift. Check out Julia Dordoni, Jenny Lou Live Art and Mark Hall.
Fourth…my personal favorite…glam bars. Everyone gets into this fun! Most typically your hair/makeup gals will remain on site and set up a Glam Bar for a few hours. They can customize their offerings to meet your theme. Guests are treated to face glitter, hair extensions, hair tinsel, lashes, face bling and more. Ask your hair and make up gals if they’ll provide this service.
Lastly…hat bars are popping up. These can be a little pricey. But they add a “wow” factor to your event. Guests really get to pick a cowboy type hat and customize it with bling, leather straps and other customizations. It’s a project for fun and it’s entertaining to not only make your own, but to see what others have made. Check out The Outpost for more information.
Gone are the days where guests sit at a boring chicken dinner and dance to YMCA and then go home. Entertainment at your wedding reception is popping up, guests want to be personally treated, “wow”d, and engaged. Whatever your wedding entertainment, make it fit into your theme and make it personal to your guests. Happy Planning!
